However, here’s the thing: Family Guy is going to offend everyone eventually. That seems to be their main goal. So even though they do push the envelope a wee bit too far sometimes, that’s why we keep watching.

The only bad part is when the really poor taste jokes are not done well – like the Prom Night Dumpster Baby. That was just stupid. Also, when they do the same joke a hundred times in one episode – that’s just lazy writing! What do you think – are there any moments or jokes in Family Guy that made you go “oh, they went too far!”?

First: Peter Griffin in the Outhouse. I can’t watch this without getting the dry heaves, it’s that nasty. I looked for like twenty minutes and this Russian version is the only one I could find – but I think it actually makes it funnier.

Second: of course, the infamous puke scene. I don’t recommend watching this while you’re eating, or even THINKING about eating.

After attending a concert featuring Barry Manilow, Peter realizes that he has accidentally dropped his wallet there. However, he soon discovers that someone has found it, but is currently using his credit card to buy expensive things. After recieving a bank letter, Peter and Brian track down the culprit to a Chinese restaurant and discover him to be none other than James Woods, whom Peter had previously locked away in a Government Warehouse. Naturally, James is bitter towards Peter and, having stolen his wallet, has stolen his identity as well. Peter and Brian return home to find James there as well, having claimed property of his house and possessions. James calls Joe over to remove Peter from his house. The Griffins are outraged by this, but Joe has no other choice but to abide his request now that James has his identity; he even refers to James as “Peter”. The Griffins are resentful of James for what he has done, especially Lois and Brian. When Brian told James, “You’re not going to get away with this, Woods,” James responded by calling him an “outside dog” and had him tied outside on a leash, to Brian’s outrage, citing his Brown education. Unfortunately, Peter is forced to stay off of James’ property (especially since James is armed with a shotgun). As James tries to weasel his way into the Griffins’ lives, Peter and Brian move into a hotel together, with Peter wanting nothing more than to be with Lois. Peter attempts to sneak into the house, disguising himself as Chris’s friend, Scooter, but his identity is revealed after James tricked Peter into taking off his hat. Peter begins to despair until Brian points out that Peter himself has the ability to assume James’ identity and get revenge himself. After Stewie forges Peter a fake ID card, Peter manages to convince the public that he is James Woods. Then, on live television, he says several inconsiderate remarks that ruin James’ career (such as mentioning that he is starring in a shallow comedy based on 9/11). James is furious and confronts Peter but, exactly as before, Peter and Brian trap him in a box with Reese’s Pieces as bait. Peter happily reunites with Lois and the rest of the family and James is sent back to the Government Warehouse to be studied by “top men” yet again.

* Stewie lies to Brian that James Woods read his novel and wants to option it and make it a movie. This gag comes from the episode “Brian the Bachelor.” It was later repeated in the episodes “Brian Goes Back to College”, “Saving Private Brian”, and “Movin’ Out (Brian’s Song)”.

* The ending of this episode it almost the same as in the previous episode, Peter’s Got Woods, right to the Raiders of the Lost Ark reference. After trapping Woods in a box using candy as bait, Peter tells Brian that they should just start out with that next time as it is the second time he (Woods) fell for it.

* Despite having been killed by Stewie in Saving Private Brian, vaudevillians Vern and Johnny return. Vern appears as a ghost, while Johnny appears in Hell, Vern states that he (Johnny), “liked little boys.”
* In one of the skits, a man kills himself after watching Garden State.
* The title of this episode comes from the films Back to the Woods.
* The closing scene is a re-creation of the warehouse scene at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
* When Peter goes to rent a movie, various posters similar to real movies are seen including one for Rocky Balboa.

James Woods returns after being locked in a crate to seek revenge against Peter. First, James steals Peter’s identity and moves in as head of the Griffin household. Then, Peter goes out and ruins James career and image on the “Back to the Woods” episode of FAMILY GUY airing Sunday, Feb. 17 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

“Back to the Woods” is a season six episode that has an airdate of February 17, 2008. There are special guest voices done by James Woods and Barry Manilow as themselves. The episode is a sequel to the episode “Peter’s Got Woods”. The episode is expected to concern James Woods stealing Peter’s identity after Peter leaves his wallet at a Barry Manilow concert, and Peter countering by ruining his career.

This is the fourth episode that was to be aired after the writers’ strike and without the final editing and consent of creator Seth MacFarlane. This is the first episode in the 6th production cycle series of episodes to air, though it was the second made. Also, in the commentary of “Peter’s Got Woods” (feat. James Woods), MacFarlane thought about doing a sequel of that episode, saying that Woods would get his revenge on Peter.
