I was so looking forward to this week’s episode of Family Guy, “Not All Dogs Go To Heaven”, and it did not disappoint! Awesome episode, good jokes, excellent storyline with Brian pretending to be a fundie to get Meg off his back, and the Star Trek bits were epic, especially the drive-thru (Will Wheaton: “I want McNuggets!” Patrick Stewart: (smacks his head into the window) “You’ll take what you get and LIKE IT!”). Excellent all the way around, FINALLY, after some pretty mediocre episodes this season. What did you think?

As preparation for the MUCH anticipated Star Trek parody we’ll get to see this weekend, Not All Dogs Go To Heaven, here’s a great little set of clips from the episode as well as Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane talking about all the preparation they went through for this episode. I love that Stewie is a Trekkie, and there are plenty of Trekkie gags from the look of this short preview!

Sneak peek info from Family Guy producer David Goodman on “Not All Dogs Go To Heaven”

I had the pleasure of sitting in on a conference call with Family Guy producer David Goodman yesterday; the call was all about the upcoming episode “Not All Dogs Go To Heaven”, coming up this weekend, March 29. Here’s a few highlights:

Stewie never gets to ask the cast of “Star Trek TNG” his questions at the convention, so he kidnaps the cast and has a little bit of fun with them.
“Return of the Jedi” parody has gone into production.
There will an episode reminiscent of the classic “Tootsie” film with Dustin Hoffman coming up (probably next season).
There are two parallel stores in “Dogs”: one with Meg and Brian, with Meg finding God and giving Brian a hard time for his atheism, and then the whole Star Trek TNG thing going on.
On getting the TNG cast to guest star: Patrick Stewart has a recurring role on American Dad, and the rest of the cast was totally game to do it, to make fun of themselves. They all recorded at separate times, Patrick Stewart recorded his role remotely from London.
Next year they’re going to do an episode with ONLY Stewie and Brian.
As far an ideal episode: the FG writers are always trying to outdo themselves, but they admit that it’s getting harder to do since they’ve done so many episodes.
“Empire Strikes Back” at the end of next season. Characters from “The Cleveland Show” and “American Dad” will probably show up in “Return of the Jedi”.

There was a bit more, but that’s the main gist of it. This only makes me look forward to this weekend’s Star Trek episode even more, how about you?

Stewie builds a transporter and beams the entire cast of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” to his bedroom so they can spend a fun-filled day together in Quahog in the “Not All Dogs Go To Heaven” episode of FAMILY GUY airing Sunday, March 29 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Guest voices by the cast of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” including Patrick Stewart, Levar Burton, Gates McFadden, Michael Dorn, Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes.

I’m not sure why we got this image before the scheduled new episodes this month – Fox-y Lady and The Juice is Loose – but I’ll take it!
