Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane both animated for an Emmy!

Whoa, now this was a big surprise! Family Guy has been nominated for an Emmy in the category for comedy – not the Animated category it’s traditionally been. This is the first time an animated show has snagged a Comedy nod since the Flintstones in 1961! And Seth MacFarlane has been nominated for an Emmy for his stellar voice work – that one’s long overdue.

Updated: I had to actually close comments on this post because of the sick, disgusting comments in favor of sexual assault on women from a small group of idiots who obviously have major penile issues. Or should I say….minor? Huh.

This Sunday’s Family Guy episode is titled I Dream of Jesus; it’s about how Peter re-discovers his passion for the song “Surfin’ Bird”, but Brian and Stewie find it so annoying that they try to prevent it from being heard again. Distraught, Peter searches every record store in town for a copy of the song until he runs into Jesus himself, and the two start hanging out.
A couple guest stars in this episode that you might recognize: Dane Cook, Paris Hilton, Perez Hilton.
