Nestlé USA today announced the launch of “Dude, Where’s My Bar?” an innovative online narrative game for consumers to help solve the mystery surrounding the October 2 theft of Green’s vintage Butterfinger bar. The “lite” alternate reality game starring Seth Green will call upon the clever, irreverent thinking of Butterfinger fans, as they compete to find and solve clues that could lead to the return of Green’s missing bar and a one-of-a-kind grand prize: a solid-gold Butterfinger bar worth $10,000.

Uh, not to be a downer, but what kind of prize is a solid gold Butterfinger bar?!?!? Geez, you couldn’t even sell that thing. Here’s more:

The heart of the game’s storyline is a multi-part mystery starring Green and his “evil nemesis,” bringing to life “Nobody’s Gonna Lay A Finger On My Butterfinger” for Green, the Butterfinger Mouthpiece. The narrative thread will span six different games over a nearly three-week period, beginning October 13, at 12:01 a.m. EDT with a big reveal on Halloween, October 31, at 11:59 p.m. EDT, when the game ends. Players can compete in all six games and dive deeply into the story or jump in and out at anytime.
Each game can either interconnect with the others or stand alone. Players are awarded points for playing games as well as clues that point them to the whereabouts of Green’s bar. Weekly prizes, including the iPhone 3GS, Flip Cameras, and DJ Hero Renegade/Guitar Hero game bundles, also may be awarded. At the conclusion of the game play, one grand-prize winner will be awarded a real, solid-gold Butterfinger bar valued at $10,000. The winner may have the opportunity to meet Green in person in Los Angeles.

Okay, well, the weekly prizes are worthwhile, and meeting Seth would be teh awesome. What about you – anyone out there going to play along? The official game site is here.

Here’s the mugging video first. It’s a security camera video, so the quality isn’t that great, and you can’t even really tell if it’s Seth or not, although he does walk and have mannerisms similar to Seth. Watch:

Now, if this is real, I feel really bad that this happened to Seth. However, I think there is the slight possibility that it could be a publicity stunt. What do you think?

According to SciFi.com, Seth Green (Chris Griffin) is getting his own comic book series based on his character Oz from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. Here’s more:

As for the arc’s storyline? “Oh, that is top secret, my friend, but it’s super cool,” Espenson said, adding: “You’ll see a wolf or two. There might be a wolf.”

Will Oz have a new love interest? “I don’t think wolves mate for life,” Espenson said slyly. “I think there could be a new mate. We’ll see.”

I really need to get the Buffy seasons on DVD; it’s a good show that I just really never got around to watching.

Seth Green, voice of Chris Griffin, reveals that he is quite the daredevil – he scaled the Sydney opera House! Once he got up there, though, he ran into a problem:

“I got to the high point and turned around, my friend took the photo, but it was only then I realised just how steep the incline was and on the way down I didn’t have a lot of stopping ability,” he said.

“But, the moment I was ready to slide down and burn the soles off my shoes, a security guard walked around the corner.

“I had to press as tight as I could to the crevice and somehow stay up there.”

Eventually the friend he was with led the security guard around the corner and Seth was able to come down and act like nothing had happened. He was about 11 meters up (that’s about 36 feet), so pretty high.

Seth Green and best buddy (and fellow Robot Chicken writer/producer) Breckin Meyer are negotiating a deal to join the cast of Heroes for multi-episode arcs. They’ll be playing a couple of comic book nerds who serve as advisers to some of the Heroes. Hmmm, doesn’t this sound familiar? I seem to remember some comic book/computer nerds on the cast of “X-Files” who also served as helpers and advisers to Scully and Mulder. Do you think they’ll call these guys the “Lone Gunmen” as well?

• Stewie and Brian will be time-traveling back to 1939 Poland, and bringing poor Mort Goldman along with them.
• a homage to Sliders will be seen
• James Woods will make another appearance

Also, they ARE very much working on the second Star Wars parody, and it looks to be even better than the first one.

Seth Green’s work parodying Star Wars in Robot Chicken and Blue Harvest has apparently paid off, in a big way. He’s now officially part of the George Lucas Circle of Trust, because he voiced one of the characters in the upcoming Star Wars animated feature. Of course, he can’t say who because he’s under a strict NDA, but how cool is that?

Seth also let us know that Family Guy’s parody of “Empire Strikes Back” is *this* close to being done. Which is good news, since there’s been like what, 5 new episodes this year? And most of them sucked. You can read more of Seth’s interview here: Seth Green Gets Dream Job.
