Family Guy actor Alex Borstein and her husband have made the worst celebrity baby boy name of 2008 list. Their new baby boy born this year was named Barnaby Borstein Douglas, which you have to admit is a pretty weird name; plus, the name “Barnaby” reminds me of that guy from “Hello Dolly”:

Do “Family Guy” fans scare you at all?
Oh yeah, we’ve got some intense fans. Sometimes, at comedy clubs, they’ll corner me afterwards. They’ll make me do the Lois Griffin voice. I’m fine with it, it just depends on how people come up to me and how they ask. I don’t mind feeling like a trained seal.

The rest of the interview, she talks about doing the live show (which is next week – anyone going to Carnegie Hall?).

]]> Our very own Alex Borstein, the voice of Lois Griffin, has had her first baby today with husband Jackson Douglas.

Baby Barnaby Borstein Douglas arrived on Monday, September 8th, weighing in at 8 lbs, 10 oz. He is 19 inches long. Mama and baby are doing just fine.

Congratulations Alex!!!!!!

  • She’s wrapping up a comedy titled For Christ’s Sake
  • She just got done with a live Family Guy show in Los Angeles
  • Oh, and last but not least? ALEX BORSTEIN IS PREGNANT. Here’s her official MySpace announcement:

Hello folks. Just thought I’d pop online and give you an update. I am knocked up. It’s official. I have a teeny tiny penis inside of me right now and it will be coming out of me in September. So, there you have it. Some exciting news from the Alex Borstein camp.
I look forward to all of the nasty things that will be happening to my body, both inside and out and I promise that I won’t try to describe all of those nasty things as though they were beautiful. You’ll get enough of that crap from all the Hollywood whores who are knocked up right now, too, like: Angelina, Jamie Lynn, Ashlee, Nicole, Jessica Alba, that weird guy who was on Oprah…

It’s a fertile world and we’re all just livin’ in it.

An Evening of Music and Comedy, the show is set to run for one night only at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. The event will benefit the Center Theatre Group’s New Play Production Program. If you want to go, tickets are available here; looks like if you pony up $250, you get a real freakin’ sweet post-show reception with Alex Borstein and Seth MacFarlane!

]]> family_guy.pngYep, that dang writers strike is STILL going on (we’re in month 3 now), and Family Guy stars Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein are helping out in a Carnegie Hall benefit. Swanky!

“Family Guy” stars Alex Borstein and Seth MacFarlane will appear in a one-night-only benefit at Carnegie Hall that will also feature special guests Patti LuPone and Janeane Garofalo.

“An Evening with Family Guy’s Alex Borstein & Seth MacFarlane” will hit the famed stage Jan. 31 at 8 PM. Proceeds from the event will support the Writers Guild of America, East Strike Fund and will be shared with the Actors Fund.

Tickets for the event are available at carnegiehall.org; tickets are in the $45-$75 range. If I lived closer, I would definitely go.
