Recession ends up in budget cuts for Family Guy

December 22, 2008 by Wendy Boswell

This recession is hitting a lot of people pretty hard. The latest to be hit? Family Guy. Here’s more from TV Week:

“In these challenging economic times, we’ve asked all of our showrunners to trim their production budgets by 2%, an assignment which they have all embraced,” a 20th spokesman said. “Everyone understands that revenues are down and these steps are necessary to protect our business.”

The budgets for these shows are so enormous that I don’t think a 2% cut is going to affect anything much, but still, it’s definitely not a good sign for our economy.
