You know, just until, oh, THIS SECOND I was totally misunderstanding the lyrics in the Family Guy Theme Song. That one part where Stewie breaks in? It’s actually “…laugh and cry!”, and this whole time I thought he was saying “…’effin DIE!” Which, actually, would make more sense. Anyway, here’s the lyrics to the Family Guy song:
“Lois: It seems today that all you see is violence in movies and sex on Tv.
Peter: But, Where are those good ol’ fashion values …
All: … on which we used to rely?
All: Lucky theres a Family Guy!
All: Lucky theres a man who, positively can do all the thing that make us …Stewie: …Laugh and cry!

Now we’ve all got that song in our heads for the rest of the day.
Actually, I’ve noticed that too, some episodes he actually says ‘effin die and other episodes he says laugh and cry…

Effin die makes no sense at all.
I always thought he said effin cry and after listening to it I still think its effin cry…thats what it sounds like – clearly. Effin cry makes perfect sense and I’d rather accept that it was effin cry over laugh and cry. Laugh and cry sounds too Simpsonsish. Effin cry sounds like something stewie would say anyway.
When I turn on my closed captioning it says “‘effin cry!” but when I look online it says laugh and cry. I know I hear him saying “‘effin cry”.
The line stewie says is ‘laugh and cry’. The point of the song is a parody of what the show actualy is, it outlines peters attempts to be a family guy and to be moralistic, and its funny because this doesnt happen
